Three-way viscous damper

application field

Three directional viscous dampers are mainly used in electric power (thermal power, nuclear power), petroleum, chemical industry LNG、 Industries such as steel and shipbuilding. In order to avoid the occurrence of tension or torque that should not occur when the pipeline system is subjected to instantaneous dynamic load impact, eliminate abnormal displacement of the pipeline system and other components, and not hinder the normal thermal movement of the pipeline system.

working principle

The three-way viscous damper consists of a plunger, a housing, damping fluid, a top plate, a bottom plate, and a protective cover.

The top or bottom plate is connected to a rigid structure, while the opposite plate is connected to a vibrating structure (such as a piping system).

The gap between the plunger and the housing of the three-way viscous damper has displacement gaps, and the gap is filled with viscous damping fluid. The plunger and housing are connected to the vibrating and stationary components through the top and bottom plates, respectively, to absorb the vibration of the equipment between the plunger and the housing. When the pipeline drives the shell (when the top plate and piston are fixed) or the piston (when the shell is fixed) to vibrate, damping force is generated due to the squeezing and shearing action of the plunger relative to the viscous damping fluid, in order to reduce the vibration frequency and acceleration. Damping force is achieved by converting kinetic energy into heat, and the plunger can move freely in all directions inside the fluid.
